Code that identifies a waste according to a predetermined cataloguing. Currently, this coding is done using six-digit codes in accordance with the European Waste List.

Substances or mixtures as defined in Article 3 of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008 on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures.

Any recovery operation aimed at recovering the energy contained in the waste, in accordance with the criteria established from time to time.

Any process, including recycling, that allows the use of the resources contained in the waste, excluding the use of waste as a source of energy.
